Key questions about our roof flashings

What are PV cable roof penetrations and what are they used for?

PV cable roof penetrations are high-quality plastic modules that safely and weatherproofly route solar cables through tiled or sheet metal roofs. They prevent abrasion and moisture – ideal for balcony power plants, carports, and garden sheds.

Which variations are there – and which one suits my roof?

Tile feed-throughs (e.g. 105 mm, 125 mm, 200 mm)
Each version can accommodate 2 or 4 PV cables + earth cable.
Optionally available as Profi-Line (MC4 connectors detachable) or DIY series (tool-free, MC4 on site).

How many bushings do I need for my system?

This does not depend on the number of modules, but on the number of roof penetrations and strings:

Each string uses 2 cables (positive/negative) – a 2-cable gland is sufficient for this.
For 2 strings (4 cables), you can either use a 4-cable gland or two 2-cable glands.
Most single-family homes manage with 1–2 glands.

Tip: If you plan an expansion later or a second roof side, it's worth getting a second piece right away.

How easy is the installation?

DIY line:
Simply clip the cable in from the side, insert the duct, replace the roof tile – no tools or special tiles required.

Professional line:
Remove the MC4 connector, thread the cable through, reattach the MC4. Done.

What materials and protection classes are used?

High-quality, weather- & UV-resistant plastic (PETG / ASA / TPU), 3D-printed in our own German workshop. Ideal for long-term outdoor use.

Which cables and connectors are the feedthroughs suitable for?

Suitable for standard PV cables with a cross-section of 4–6 mm² and earth cables (up to 9.5 mm Ø). The DIY series allows cables to be inserted directly with attached MC4 connectors.

Are the cable glands compatible with balcony power plants?

Yes – specially developed for use with balcony power plants. No tools, no interior access needed – ideal for retrofitting.

Where are the roof penetrations manufactured?

Made in Germany: Development & production take place in our company's own workshop. Quality, precision fit, and support are guaranteed.

Is there support or help with the purchase?

Yes – personal customer support directly from Germany is available. Products are usually shipped CO₂-neutrally and quickly – often on the same business day.

How sustainable are the products, really?
