The Solution: A Gland as Abrasion Protection
Our PV roof gland made of TPU sits between the cable and the tile. The cable no longer rests on the sharp edge but is protected in the soft, flexible material – the insulation remains intact for good.
Important to know: The gland is abrasion protection, not a sealing replacement. Your roof will be sealed as usual by the tile covering.
Here's How – Step by Step
- Lift the tile and choose the position for the gland (as close as possible to the cable run).
- Slightly grind down the tile at the bearing edge so that the gland sits cleanly.
- Insert the cable and hook in the gland.
- Replace the tile – done, the cable is protected.
By the way: You don't have to cut the MC4 connector for this – the cable is inserted with the connector.
